MIDWEST LIVING MAGAZINE READERS VOTE CHAMPAIGN-URBANA, ILLINOIS THE WINNER OF THE GREATEST FOOD TOWN 

After months of town nominations and thousands of online votes, Midwest Living’s readers have named Champaign/Urbana, Illinois, the Greatest Food Town in the Midwest.  To celebrate, Champaign/Urbana will be featured in the September/October 2017 issue of Midwest Living, and the magazine will host a celebration event in Champaign-Urbana in late summer. 

From May 1-31, 2017, readers voted on their favorite town to take top prize. The finalists, one from each Midwest state and all under 750,000 population, were chosen for their strong offerings of local chefs, innovative restaurants, nearby food producers and diversity of culinary offerings.  The finalists include: Champaign-Urbana, IL (winner); Bloomington, IN; Des Moines, IA; Lawrence, KS; Ann Arbor, MI; Duluth, MN; Springfield, MO; Lincoln, NE; Fargo, ND; Toledo, OH; Sioux Falls, SD and Madison, WI.
