Get Excited for Virtual C-U PrideFest 2020
C-U PrideFest 2020 is happening this weekend from September 25-27. We're so excited this major event for our community is still taking place, even if it is virtual. If anything, the offerings this year are a great opportunity for everyone to get involved who loves the event as well as those who might not usually attend or participate! As the largest PrideFest in Illinois outside of Chicago, inclusivity and acceptance for all is a huge part of what makes us Outside of Ordinary. Here's how to celebrate, learn, and participate in this year's C-U PrideFest.
C-U Pridefest 2020 - how to participate
The PrideFest schedule is going to keep us all very busy this weekend! Be sure to check out the full schedule of C-U PrideFest events ahead of this weekend. Things kick off Friday with a few panels ahead of the Kickoff Mix & Mingle that runs from 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM on Friday. All of these events can be found on the UP Center of Champaign County's website as well as numerous Facebook Events.
For many of the events taking place, you'll need to fill out a form on the PrideFest 2020 guide. Many of the events are free but donations are encouraged to help the UP Center continue to support LGBTQ+ members of our community. From teens to the elderly, UP Center programming is integral to the inclusive, accepting community we all deserve.
Online auctions, local shopping, and more
Throughout the entire Pride weekend, you'll have the opportunity to shop for a cause. The Online Auction takes place starting at noon on Friday and runs through the weekend. Generous community members and businesses have donated the best they have to offer: from a private professional piano concert Zoomed right into your home, to a campus parking spot near the undergrad library, to goody baskets, gift certificates, home and fashion goods, and so much more! All funds from auction purchases go to support Uniting Pride’s year-round programming. Check out the full lineup of auction items here.
