Living Outside of Ordinary: Week of 9/9
In the past month, how many days can you truly remember? On average, a few days, 4 or 5 if you’re lucky, stand out from the daily routines we all experience. That’s why Visit Champaign County is launching our new “Living Outside of Ordinary” Campaign aimed at residents and visitors as a means to encourage everyone to discover new places throughout the greater Champaign County area.
Each week, we’ll give you one thing to do each day, something Outside of Ordinary, to make sure you have a way to make each day memorable. We’ll be busy brainstorming over the next year to make sure you have ways to break out of the routine and immerse yourself in the amazing things happening right in your backyard. Some will be events, but others may be something as simple as getting outdoors, meeting a friend for a drink, or checking out a new store or restaurant. The goal is simple: when you’re Living Outside of Ordinary, you’re making memories, so we can all cherish each and every day.
September continues to bring fun annual events we look forward to all year long. Plus, a lot of seasonal favorites are opening back up, so needless to say there’s no shortage of #OutsideofOrdinary moments to be had!

Take an evening stroll through the Idea Garden, which is made possible by over 25,000 hours of volunteer work by green-thumbed helpers!

Try out the new additions to the Neil St Blues menu!
Wednesday, September 11
Skip a chain store and find something local instead! Check out amazing places to shop around our area.
Thursday, September 12
Sign up for a cooking class at Harvest Market – today’s focus is “stuffed” entrees!
Friday – September 13
Join the community at Meadowbrook Park for the 15th annual Jazz Walk!
Saturday, September 14
Take the kids to the Orpheum Museum for LEGO Day, featuring demos, activities, and a building competition!
Sunday, September 15
Take on the new Moon Landing themed 10 acre corn maze at Hardy’s Reindeer Ranch!
