Virtual Experiences
This fine arts museum, located on the University of Illinois campus, created multiple ways to continue to engage in their exhibits and programs. For those educating children at home, check out their teaching resources such as Art for Kids and coloring activities. Or, for those needing some art in their lives, explore their collections, from African American Artists to East Asian Arts. Because you can't get to Yoga at KAM, they are now doing it virtually every Friday at noon. Check it out on Facebook!

Krannert Center for the Performing Arts As the largest performing arts center on a university campus, Krannert Center offers over 300 performances. As everything shuts down, Krannert Center is offering opportunities to engage in past performances. They've curated a list of performances from past artists and also have playlists from past ELLNORA artists, Kronos Quartet and more. Check out their classes from Mark Morris Dance Group and some virtual program for families. |
Known for their engaging events to enrich us in world heritage and culture, the Spurlock Museum has created a number of activities to stay engaged. Storyteller Kim Sheahan offers her talent every Wednesday and Friday, telling stories on Facebook Live at 11:15 a.m. While we all need a break and mindfulness, they continue to offer their Mindful Meditation virtually every Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. You can also virtually explore their permanent exhibits, from Egyptian Mummification to Buddhism in Mid-20th Century Thai Villages. |
A favorite for families, the Museum of the Grand Prairie offers interactive exhibits for kids and all ages to discover what life was like in the prairie. Join them for regular Virtual Exhibit Tours on their Facebook page. Or look into their collections as they post their #CollectionsCorner daily, showcasing an item for the collection, telling its story. The library is offering numerous ways to stay engaged at home. Get lost in their local history and genealogy digital exhibits, filled with photos and information about the history of Champaign County. Kids can earn virtual badges for their reading with their Grow at Home reading programs. With virtual events happening daily, there's something for every member of your family!
